In this paper,an optimized grid design of silicon concentrator solar cell for the photovoltaic concentrator arrays of square focus is considered and the pattern of an inverted square symmetry grid is used.The current density in cells is so high that appreciable power is lost in the various parasitic resistance because it is used at high solar concentration levels.In this case,it is important that the grid pattern for lower parasitic resistance losses must be selected.In the paper,the inverted square symmetry grid patterns are optimized for 2×2 cm2,2.5×2.5 cm2,and 3×3 cm2 solar cells respectively so that the spacing,width and thickness of the grid lines result in minimum power loss.As is well-known,in a concentrator solar cell there are three sources of parasitic.resistive losses: resistive loss in the grid line;contact resistance loss at the metallization-semiconductor contact area and spreading resistance loss in the surface sheet under the grid.The other contribution to the power loss is the grid shadowing.According to actual process parameters they are calculated by means of destribution parameter method.,The optimized grid dimensions (including the spacing,width and thickness of the grid line) and its power loss values for inverted square symmetry grid are given at 50-sun,75-sun and 100-sun respectively.The quantitative comparison of the various parasitic power losses between linear grid and inverted square symmetry grid at 50-sun is made.The calculation results show that the gain of energy conversion efficiency of the celt would be 3.5% at 50-sun due to improving grid construction.It is very clear that the pattern of inverted square symmetry grid is superior to the linear pattern at alt concentration levels.The higher the level the more favorable to the square pattern.On the other hand,as a result of inaccurate processing in producing silicon concentrator solar cell,the grid pattern of it often deviates from the optimized grid dimensions so that the total parasitic power loss of it will increase and the output power will come down.With the help of computer,the groups of the curves of constant power losses for inverted square symmetry grid with Ti-Pd-Ag metallization are drawn at 50-sun and 100-sun respectively.Two groups of the curves indicate the relation amomg the grid shadowing,line spacing and the fraction of power remaining,and betoken how the output power of the cell would be affected if the grid dimensions deviate from optimized design.

Measures to increase the open circuit voltage, the fill factor and short circuit current density are discussed both theoretically and technologically for an efficient silicon solar cell. It is proved that by taking these measures the energy conversion efficiency of the cell can reach as high as 18.7%.

The large area display of LC driven by a-Si:H FETs and the probability of using electroluminecence of a-Si:H for the same purpose merits attention. Other a-Si:H diodes, such as a-Si:H rectifier and detector, are also quite valuable.
