The strip shape equation can be used for analyzing synthetical charac-teristics of a tandem cold rolling mill, he direct calculation of the optimum roll bending jackforce, the estimation of roll crowns and the adoptive correction calculation of the optimum rollbending jack force. As an example of the application a direct method for calculating the optimumroll bending jack force is given. This method is simpler and more accurate.

The evolution of a tokamak plasma in the diffusion-time scale is described by two-dimensional magnetic configuration equation and a set of one-dimensional transport equations averaged on magnetic surfaces. A numerical code has been developed for the simplified version which calculates only the magnetic configuration and the electron energy and magnetic flux diffusion. Preliminary computational results are presented.
