Following the recently fixed new norms with respect to floor area for each family unit,it is deemed necessary to give more careful reconsideration to the housing design problem.During the past years,valuable data and experiences have been acquired in the course of housing developments,but it appears advisable, at this stage,to make further efforts to analyse more thoroughly into this problem with a view to achieve a more rational,logical and satisfactory solution in our modern housing design. The author attempts to give a brief review of the current housing plans, comparing the effectiveness of floor space destributed inside and outside of the units, discussing the“K-values”,the application of small multl-purpose vestibule and measures taken for land saving in the course of planning. The necessary of plastic variety in contradiction with the monotony of constantly repeated prefabrication and mechanized construction process has also been discussed. The author also mentions the possibility of creating a more lively spatial composition by proper massing arrangement of the houses,green areas,facility buildings etc and to achieve a more attractive appearance by proper variation of details,of texture and of colour schemes etc. It is presumed that in the domain of housing design,plenty of research work could be done,and it hoped that hundred flowers will blossom.

The Changjiang River is wide, in the middle and lower reaches of it, the waves encountered are sometimes rather high, and the distances between the main ports are hundreds kilometers away.Passenger craft should be designed with higher speed, lower resistance and better seakeeping quality.The experimental study of the craft was proceeded with two hydrofoil systems of various surface piercing inclined lateral foils and submerged de-pthes, three hullforms with hard chine and stepped hull, and some appendages. A hydrofoil system and hullform with lower resistance (the ratio of resistance to displacement ε =0.0676) during foilborne and lower hump resistance (ε =0.0928) is recommended. It has good transverse stability in whole speed range and good seakeeping quality in waves of given heights.In order to facilitate the capacity of craft in taking-off, improve the transverse stability and enhance its seakeeping quality, it is important to develop efficiently the role of the surface piercing inclined lateral foil. It is also pointed out that the effective interaction of hydrofoil system can be obtained by rationally disposing the fore and aft foils, thus reducing the resistance at foil! orne and improving the perfomance of hydrofoil system in waves. The hullform with hard chine and two-step is a good one which can well match with the hydrofoil system and reduce the hump resistance.

长江中下游江面宽阔,有时出现较大风浪,且主要港口间距离较长,设计要求水翼客艇具有高速度、低阻力及良好的适航性。 通过具有不同割划斜侧翼和工作浸深等主要特点的二个水翼方案、三个具有断阶的船型方案及多个附件方案的设计与水动力性能试验,作者推荐了翼航阻力较低(阻升比ε=0.0676),峰阻较低(ε=0.0928),整个速度范围内横稳性良好,给定波高下耐波性较好的水翼及船型方案。 试验研究表明:割划斜侧翼的合理设计是提高水翼艇起飞能力、改善横稳性和提高耐波性的关键;合理配置前后水翼能够取得有利干扰,降低高速翼航阻力,改善水翼系统波浪中的运动性能;尖舭双断阶艇型是一种能与自稳式水翼系统有效配合取得较低起飞峰阻的船型。
