An introduction is made of the melt characteristics of UHMWPE such as ultra high viscosity,almost null melt index,low frictional factor and low critical shear rate,which are found difficult for processing.Special extrusion technologies (complex extrusion,dual plunger extrusion) are adopted in accordance with the characteristics.The little pulsation and fast heating in exlrusion are found and pure UHMWPE products with different molecular weights can be extruded.
