Phytoplankton species composition and biodiversity in Dianchi Lake during 6 months from September 2001 to July 2002 were surveyed. Biodiversity calculations included Shannon index,Pielou index and Berger-Parker index.
This paper deals with the four main aspects: (1) the mangrove species, semi-mangrove species, accompanying plants, macro-algae species and phytoplankton species in mangrove ecosystem in China;
Based on the phytoplankton species matrix data sets of the project "Preliminary Study of the Jiaozhou Bay Ecosystem Dynamics", which was carried out during 1995-03 to 1996-01 in the Jiaozhou Bay, the species composition, cells abundance, seasonal variation and dominate species of the phytoplankton were discussed.
A total of 184 phytoplankton species which belong respectively to 54 genera is identified. Most of those species recorded belonged to warm water forms (accounted for 76. 5 % ).
The result demonstrated that phytoplankton species complexities exist marked difference, and community constructions are different else between two reservoirs.
2) The distribution of diversity index of phytoplankton showed the characteristic of decreasing, increasing and then re decreasing from the northwest to the southeast, and the axis of the lowest index was located near the A-A' line between 121°30′E, 30°00′N and 122°30′E, 31°00′N in the bay.
Phytoplankton community structure in the Guangzhou Sea was investigated from May 2003 to May 2004. The results show that there were 209 species in total, representing 89 genera.
The species number of phytoplankton increased from 29 in 2000 to 99 in 2001 and 2002,among which, Chrolophyceae and Bacillariophyta contributed most,with an increase of 34 and 27,respectively.
Rank distribution parameters for the abundance of phytoplankton species was calculated based on long-term hydrobiological monitoring (1978-1997) of water bodies in the Azov, Caspian, and Kara hydrographic regions.
Calanus pacificus, Brodsky Paracalanus parvus, (Claus)P. aculeatus Gies brecht, Acrocalanus sp, and Temora turbinata (Dana) are herbivora, but few individuals of Calanus can capture smaller copepods. As a rule, the food of these species consists largely of phytoplankton common in the sea at the time of feeding, indicating the absence of selective feeding. Centropages tenuiremis Thompson et Scott and Acartia pacifica Steuer are omnivora which prefer however plant food. Labidocera euchaeta Giesbrecht is also ...
The prey-predator relationship between the plankton and the pond-cultured bigheed at every growing stage has been studied in this paper. The fishconsumes the same species of phytoplankton, but it takes different species of zooplank-ton at its every growing stage. The abundance of phytoplankton as well as zooplank-ton in the pond are of the same importance in the feeding intensity of the fish.Since the zooplankton has higher calorie than that of phytoplankton, it becomes moreimportant in terms of quality. It...
Labidocera euchaeta Gisbrecht is a more carnivorousely cmnivorous copepod. Its feeding rates on phytoplanfcton vary with different phytoplankton species. Feeding switching is found for L. euchaeta feeding on mixed foods of Artemia nauplii and Prorocentrum micons. The switching is ecologically important for the survival of L. euchaeta in the sea.
