In this paper the authors propose a new method to accurately the performance of the automotive naturally aspirateddiesel engine used on plateau condition.Based on the simulation tests,it is verified that the maximum errors of 2.6 and 1.81% in horse-power and specific fuel consumption of the diesel engine respeetively are achieved by this method when the motor vehieles oprated at an altitude of less than 5000 m.

Simulation results show that the algorithm can yield not only higher control precision, fast convergence speed, and better system stability, but also lower drop-off probability and increased system capacity compared to existing schemes.
