Single_stage displacement bleaching of E.globulus CTMP with hydrogen peroxide was investigated in this paper. The main parameters affecting bleaching such as H 2O 2 concentration, pH of the bleach liquor, temperature, bleaching time and the concentration of Na 2SiO 3 and MgSO 4 were studied. We also found the optimal conditions of displacement bleaching.

The effects of the three main process variables(time, temperature and thiourea dioxide charge)on thiourea dioxide(TD)bleaching of pulp from recycled old newspaper were studied. The results showed that the optimum conditions for TD bleaching were: reaction time 20 - 30minutes, temperature 70℃ and TD charge 0. 7 % (based on the weight of o. d. pulp). Under these conditions, the brightness of pulp could be increased about 4-5 units. The basic cost of this technology was about 130 yuan every ton pulp.
