In this work we have investigated the ~(80)Co gamma ray response cha-racteristics of polymethy methacrylate piece, cellulose triacetate, polystyrene, polyvinylalcohol, polycarbonate and polyethylene terephthalate films, which can be commerciallysupplied in chinese market. The absorption spectrum and the wavelength of optical absorbance reading, doserange and precision limits for these clear plastic films are studied. In this work we have investigated the ~(80)Co gamma ray response cha-racteristics of polymethy methacrylate piece, cellulose triacetate, polystyrene, polyvinylalcohol, polycarbonate and polyethylene terephthalate films, which can be commerciallysupplied in chinese market. The absorption spectrum and the wavelength of optical absorbance reading, doserange and precision limits for these clear plastic films are studied. The effect of dose rateand stability of system after irradiation have been illustrated. The effects of temperatureand relative humidities during and after irradiation on dose interpretation of this dosime-ters are examined. The calibration curves are given under controlled experimental condi-tion. The results show that cause for limited prepecision limits in these dosimeters varyin the thickness of the sensor, the dosimeter reseponse with differences in production bat-ches or in lots supplied by different manufacturers, the environmental conditions, thedose rate denpendenoe, and the unstability in the systems after irradiation. Hence, whenthese plastic films are used for routine dosimetry in radiation processing with gammaradiation, the quality of materials must be selected, the thickness of films must becarefully monitored, and the calibration curves must be made under experimentalconditions. Except for the polyvinyl alcohol film, others can be satisfied. The polymethyl metharylate piece and tbe cellulose triacetate film with different thi-ckness are suitable for the doseage from 0.1 Mrad to 100 Mrad. For above 100 Mrad, thepolycarbonate film and the polyethylene terephthalate film can be applied. But becausepolyethylene terephthalate film has strong dose rate dependence, the polycarbonate filmshould be used below 500 Mrad.

本工作研究了目前国内市场上有商品可供应的特种有机玻璃、三醋酸纤维素、聚苯乙烯、聚乙烯醇、聚碳酸酯和涤纶等六种透明塑料薄膜(片)对~(60)Coγ射线的剂量响应特性和用于测量吸收剂量的精密度以及这些塑料薄膜(片)照射以后光密度的稳定性和环境条件对剂量响应的影响。结果表明,通过仔细地选择薄膜(片)及检测厚度和本底光密度,并对每一批号的薄膜(片)在使用条件(例如剂量率,温度、湿度……)下做刻度曲线,除了聚乙烯醇薄膜外,其它五种透明塑料薄膜(片)还是能够满足辐射工艺过程中日常剂量测量的要求。其中以特种有机玻璃、三醋酸纤维素、聚碳酸酯和涤纶等薄膜(片)更为合适。为测显1×10~5rad到10~8rad剂量,可以采用不同厚度的前二种薄膜(片),测量10~8rad以上剂量,可以选用后二者。
