But, only the excitation functions for the Sr(p, xn) and Rb(aaaaaa, xn) have been measured up to date. Therefore an effort is made to determine the excitation function for the Sr(d,xn) in our laboratory. The measurement of the excita-tion functions for the Sr(d, xn) reactionis is petformed by activation method using stacked-foil technique with 13 MeV deuteron beam from IAE cyclotron. Two kinds of strontium samples (SrCO3) with Al backing are used: one natural, the other enriched in 87Sr.Experimental results are compared with calculated ones based on the evaporation model including pre-equilibrium emission.Available experimental data for the Sr(p, xn), Sr(d, xn) and Rb (α, xn) reactions are compiled and compared. The excitation functions for these reactions will be presented and the yields of 88Y, 87Y and88Y can be estimated through the excitation functions.The patient radiation exposure and chemical poisoning must be considered. Breakthrough of the parent nuclide increases patient exposure and degrades image quality, especially for radioactive impurity of 88Y. So the radioactive impurity in the parent nuclide should be considered.
