Bismuth silicon oxide (Bi_(12)SiO_(20)) crystals have been grown by means of the Czochralski technique in [001], [110], [111]crystallographic orientation respectively. The influence of growth conditions on crystal morphology is investigated. The character of crystal faces has been analysed by means of PBC theory. It is found that {100} and {110} behave as a F face, {211} as a S face and {111} as a K face.The order of morphological significance of these faces is obtained according to the calculation of their attachment energy. The theoretical morphology of Bi_(12)SiO_(20) agrees well with the morphology of Bi_(12)SiO_(20) which has been grown under special conditions.

The unusual connections of stator coil groups, which enable the co-existance of two different pole numbers to the brushless doubly-fed machine (BDFM), make it necessary to develop an unique model if detailed design is to be undertaken and operation performance is to be understood. Therefore, the model development in this paper starts from a consideration of basic stator coil and the basic loop that constitutes the rotor winding.Based on this model, the performance equations of the BDFM are developed by application of the appropriate connection matrices. These matrices represent the internal connection of stator coil groups and the final connections to two independent three-phase supplies of different frequencies and voltages. The resulting model of electrical performance and the associate torque equations simulate the interactions among the machine, the converter and the utility supply.
