To meet the requirements of National College English Teaching Syllabus and to further improve the quarlity of English teaching,especially to enhance the students' ability to use English,this paper presents a new pattern of teaching methodology-learner-centred orientation and also explores the necessity and feasibility of the pattern in application.
As both College English Teaching Syllabus and the grading ctiteria for CET-4 emphasize richness in content, clarity in organization and coherence in expression, students' writing samples were collected and analysed in three respects: ideas, organization and coherence.
