The sound pressure level of noise is signicantly increased above 16,000 rpm. The rotor and bearing of open-end-spinning which has rigid support possess with high noise frequency, while the noise frequencies of rotor and bearing system which has elastic support are coincied with the first, second and third natural frequencies, it means there are "coherence efforts" between noise and vibration at those frequencies.

According to blade tip loss theory and information of cascade tests,a formula for the destablizing blade tip force,named as of Alford′s force,has been derived in such form,as Alford′s formula,i.e. F A=βTe/DL,but the load efficiency β is a function of cascade construction,blade profile and original blade tip clearance.The time domain and frequency domain responses of a one stage compressor rotor were computed and plotted for different cross coupled stiffness induced by Alford′s force of the rotor.Investigation on the rotor instability reveals that the rotor runs synchronously at subcritical speeds,and only when Alforcd′s force is large enough and the rotating speed exceeds the first critical,the rotor will exhibit subsynchronous whirl with both frequency components of rotating speed and first backward synchronous critical.The amplitude of vibration component with backward whirl increases as Alford′s cross coupled stiffness rises,but that of the component with speed frequency is unaffected by it.The threshold of instability caused by Alford′s force is a function of Alford cross coupled stiffiness and the rotor speed,and is independent of the rotor imbalance.
