In order to study the synaptic connections between the serotonin(5 HT) ,substance P(SP) ,leucine enkephalin (L ENK) ,γ aminobutyric acid (GABA) ,and glycine (Gly) like immunoreactive (LI) axon terminals and the motoneurons within the brainstem orofacial motor nuclei (trigeminal motor,facial,and hypoglossal nuclei)of the rat,a double labeling method by combination of retrograde tracing with immunohistochemical staining was used in the present study. 5 HT , SP ,L ENK ,GABA ,and Gly LI axon terminals were densely observed in the brainstem orofacial motor nuclei.The distribution patterns of those axon terminals had no topographic differences within the different subregions of the motor nuclei.After injecting horseradish peroxidase(HRP) into the orofacial muscles or related nerves,HRP retrogradely labeled neurons were found in different subregions of the motor nuclei,in which motoneurons send their axons to innervate the orofacial muscles.5 HT ,SP ,and L ENK LI axon terminals made asymmetrical axo dendritic synapses with dendrites of the HRP retrogradely labeled motoneurons,whereas GABA and Gly LI axon terminals formed symmetrical axo dendritic synapses with dendrites of the HRP retrogradely labeled motoneurons.Occasionaly,axo somatic synapses were encountered between 5 HT , SP ,L ENK ,GABA ,and Gly LI axon terminals and HRP retrogradely labeled neuronal cell bodies of the motoneurons.The present results indicate that 5 HT ,SP ,and L ENK LI or GABA and Gly LI axon terminals which originated mainly from brainstem premotor neuron pool might have excitatory or inhibitory effects on orofacial motoneurons in the brainstem orofacial motor nuclei.

Objective To investigate the wide application of the submental island flap to repairing soft tissue defects of homolateral face and mouth. Method 34 sides on adult head and neck specimens were chosen to survey the blood supply and nerve innervation of the submental flap. Results The submental artery spread out at a 54 mm±03 mm distance from the origin of facial artery, accompanied by two veins, and its diameter was 20 cm±03 cm. The flap pedicled with the facialsubmental vessels was used as a cutaneous, musculocutaneous or osteocutaneous flap. The sensory nerve of it was the cutaneous cervical nerve. Conclusions The flap had a longer pedicle and rotated freely around the face and mouth so as to repair soft tissue defects of the lower twothirds of homolateral face and mouth.

目的为了使颏下血管蒂岛状皮瓣广泛地应用于修复面部组织缺损。方法在34侧成人头颈标本上,对颏下区的血液供应和神经分布进行观察。结果颏下动脉起自面动脉,距其起点5.4cm±0.3cm处发出。起始端外径2.0cm±0.3mm。颏下动脉有2条静脉相伴行,注入面静脉。以面-颏下血管为蒂,可设计成颏下皮瓣、肌皮瓣和骨皮瓣。皮瓣的感觉神经为颈皮神经。结论皮瓣血管蒂长6.5cm±0.5cm,毗邻口腔颌面部,便于旋转,可修复面部下2/3及口腔内的组织缺损,且具有色泽与外形较好等优点。
