The flow resistance of polypropylene increases with the addition of carbon black, titanium diexide and phthalocyanine blue, bat decreases with the presence of GL orange and BR red. Adding titanium dioxide to the polymer little influences the latter cpherocrystal structure. Submicroscopic structure of polypropylene containing GL orange and carbon black has a mixture characteristic structure of spher(?)lites and rods. Phthalocyanine blue and BR red seems to restrict the growth of the spherulites, and microcrystal forms in the polymer.

In this paper results obtained from studies about the effect of coating color solids on coated paper and coating color properties are covered. The objective of the studies was to find out the relationship imposed by variations in coating color solids. Ten different coating formulations, with oxidized starch/SBR latex systems and clay/precipitated calcium carbonate system inclusive, were investigated. For each :formulation, coating colors of solids varying from 45 to 65% (by weight) were applied to three types...

In this paper results obtained from studies about the effect of coating color solids on coated paper and coating color properties are covered. The objective of the studies was to find out the relationship imposed by variations in coating color solids. Ten different coating formulations, with oxidized starch/SBR latex systems and clay/precipitated calcium carbonate system inclusive, were investigated. For each :formulation, coating colors of solids varying from 45 to 65% (by weight) were applied to three types of base paper, with only one-side coated. Viscosities, theological properties and water retentions of the coating colors were evaluated; and for the coated papers, optical properties, IGT pick resistances and ink .absorptions were tested. Results obtained showed all coating colors under investigation had a good runna-bility. Increasing the coating color solids tended to enhance IGT pick resistance and gloss, but ink absorption seemed to have dropped solids down. Based on these findings, further tests were performed. It was again confirmed that, at the same level of pick resistance, increasing the coating color solids from 40% to 60% (by wt), with 3 to 4 parts less binder in the formulation, much improvement in gloss was -observed on the coated paper. However, no changes in brightness and ink absorption were noticed. Results obtained were presented in graphical forms. Base stock properties, coating formulations, coating structure and binder migration mechanism were further discussed in the paper.

本文述叙了涂料固含量对涂料和涂布纸性质影响的一系列研究及结果。目的在于找出它们之间的相互关系及具体效应。实验内容包括不同配比的氧化淀粉/丁苯胶乳胶粘剂体系和不同配比的高岭土/沉淀碳酸钙颜料体系的十种配方,每种配方中涂料固含量从45%到65%变化,并使用了三种工业原纸。测定了涂料的粘度、流变性和保水性;涂布纸的光学性能、拉毛速度和油墨吸收性。结果表明,在所研究的范围内,涂料均具有良好的适涂性能,提高涂料的固含量均明显地提高涂布纸的光泽度和拉毛速度,但降低了涂布纸的油墨吸收性。在取得初步实验结果后,进行了进一步的实验,证实了在涂布纸的拉毛速度一定时,涂料的固含量从40%增加到60%时,可以获得涂料胶粘剂用量减少8到4份,涂布纸的光泽度显著提高而不影响亮度和油墨吸收性的数果。根据原纸的类型,配方上的差别,涂层结构及涂料胶粘剂迁移原理等,对实验结果进行了分析和讨论。
