    Alkvlation of ethylbenzene with ethylene to form p-diethyl-benzene over HDGA-5 zeolite catalysts has been studied. The catalyst activity decreases with decreasing number of surface acidic sites. The para-selectivity, however, increases with reducing strength of surface acidic sites or decreasing effective diffusivity of micropore.     Alkvlation of ethylbenzene with ethylene to form p-diethyl-benzene over HDGA-5 zeolite catalysts has been studied. The catalyst activity decreases with decreasing number of surface acidic sites. The para-selectivity, however, increases with reducing strength of surface acidic sites or decreasing effective diffusivity of micropore. A HDGA-5 zeolite catalyst with lower acidic strength and smaller effective diffusivity is used for the alkylation. In continuous run of 250h, the catalytic activity, the para-selectivity and the selectivity of alkylation are respectively 19.36mol%, 91.21% and 83.05%, and those after regeneration of the catalyst are respectively 18.67%, 91.89% and 83.05% for continuous run of 200h.
