The principal difficulty facing a blast designer is the lack of prior information about the many critical blasting characteristics of the rock mass. The common practice of trial-and-error blasting will eventually lead to a suitable design, but this must be repeated time after time in variable geology. This frequently results in many. blast damaged slopes with decreased stability and increased safety hazards. Recent research indicates that monitoring drill performance will yield a Rock Quality Index for the rock mass which correlates to a Powder Factor value. Without the costs of additional equipment or personnel, the drilling can provide a continual supply of data, reflecting changes in the rock which enables the selection of an economical Powder Factor, The ultimate goals of this simple correlation system are optimization of fragmentation, elimination of unacceptable blast damage, preservation of inherent rock strength, and maximization of slope stability.

This treatise is mainly based on the reseach for improving the effect of bench bla-sting at Dexing Copper Mine.The test work was carried out in 1980~1982 in cooper-ation with Changsha Research Institute of Mining,Dexing Copper Mine and Nan-chang Nonferrous Metallurgical Designing-Research Institute.This paper discusses theeffects of parameters on rock blasting,such as the drilling patterns,short delay interval,specific charge,charged construction,ratio of length of charge to length of stemming,ignition patterns,etc.The way for transferring from pilot to full scale test is exploredThe principles and formulas to determine reasonable blasting parameters are proposed.In view of the properties of rock in Dexing Copper Mine,comprehensive technologicalmeasures were used to improve the fragmentation of the rock which was hard to beblasted.In the process of reseach the observations with modern high-speed photography,recording ground vibrations,acoustical measuring,etc,are regarded as one of the scien-tific bases for determining blasting parameters.The whole research has yielded bettertechnological and economic results.As compared with the same type of productive bla-sting as before,the specific charge was reduced by 23.64-32.73%,the average of boulderrate decreased by 51.85-85.21%,the average volume of rock excavated per-metre holeincreased by 13.14-17.60% and the average of shoveling efficiency raised by 14.52%.Fin-ally,according to the current circumstances of the mine,the author made some sugge-stions to further improve the effect of bench blasting.

Increasing limestone lump rate by blasting is one of research tasks all along. Based on the blasting diagnosis at Xigou Limestone Mine of Jiuquan Iron & Steel Co., this paper points out that at present problems in bench deep-hole blasting limestone open-pit mine everywherel describes the blasting principles for increasing limestone lump rate by bottom broken charge blasting technology. The test of small-scale bench model made from cement grout had been produced. The bottom broken charge blasting technology was used in Xigou Limestone Mine and the little overdepth (or not overdepth blasting) was realized. By this way, the single-hole sequience igniting was gone so that the squeeing action between ore and rock was decreased, the limestone lump rate was increased and the powder factor was decreased.

通过爆破提高石灰石矿块矿率一直是熔剂石灰石矿的研究课题之一。本文结合酒泉钢铁公司西沟石灰石矿的实际进行了爆破技术诊断,指出了目前露天石灰石矿台阶深孔爆破中普遍存在的问题。论述了底部间隔装药爆破技术提高石灰石块矿率的爆破作用原理,进行了水泥砂浆小台阶模型试验,在西沟石灰石矿应用了底部间隔装药爆破技术,实现了小超深(或无超深)爆破,采用单孔顺序起爆方法,降低矿岩之间的挤压作用,有效地减缓了台阶顶部粉矿层的厚度,提高了石灰石块矿率,降低了单位炸药消耗量
