Results Of 891 patients with complex renal calculi,3.7%(33/891) patients were presented with fungous infection, including 60.61%(20/33) with Candida albicans and 39.39%(13/33) with Candida glabrata. All the 33 patients had long-term use of broad spectrum antibiotics from 25 to 92 days(averaged 45.8 days).
[Methods] 38 patients of complex renal calculi were treated by the watchful therapy, extracorporeal shock wave lithoripsy (ESWL), percutancous nephrolithotomy (PCNL), the combination of ESWL and PCNL, and open surgery.
Data from 1988 to 1995 on the management of complex renal calculi were reviewed. The treatment consisted of ESWL and nephrolithotomy. The adoption of ESWL for complex renal calculi dropped from 81.25% in 1988 too 57.79% in 1995 while the stone free rate at 3 months increased from 57.69% to 86.20%.

Methods Double J tube was used as internal stent and drainage for one to four months in the upper urinary tract operations in 41 cases with bladder tumor, obstruction of ureteropelvic junction, complicated nephrolithiasis, ureteral stones, ureteral trauma and ureteral calculi.
