The knowledge o f the specialty and the level of English were improved; new type relationship b etween teachers and students was built; the elicitation teaching method with the students as the center was developed to promote teaching and learning. A wholly complete set of teaching material, teaching aids and multimedia teaching facil ities was worked out.\ Conclusion\ The new teaching thoughts and effective teaching metho ds play an important role in the training of qualified personnel of clinical la boratory medicine for this century.

In the course of medical education for academic degree, reforming our teaching course by trying bilingualteaching in surgery to different students is an effective way to enhance the medical staff's English level and their abilityto use English. This article has summarized the experience of our bilingual teaching from the design, preparation andimplementation of the teaching.[
