In this paper,the author attempted to discuss the plane strain fracture toughness K1c of PMMA(polymethyl methacrylate) based on the theory of linear elastic fracture mechanics arid the intrinsic characteristics of macromolecular motion in polymeric materials. The effects of the absorbed water in material, environmental humidity and humid air aging at elevated temperature on the fracture behaviours of two kinds of acrylic sheets, YB-3 and YB-4, were studied. It was found that the present of water or humidity is of benefit to the fracture resistance of PMMA materials.

The effects of the absorbed water, and the water environment, and the elevated temperature and humid air aging,and the stress ratio and the frequency of test on the fatigue crack propagation properties of two kinds of acrylic sheets ( PMMA ) were studied.It was found that water is beneficial to the fatigue crack resistance of PMMA.Two models of microscopic mechanism of subcritical fatigue crack propagation under the effects of constant amplitude cyclic loading were propaosed based on fractographic observations, and were used to explain the facture processes of fatigue crack of glassy polymers. Program ( ALGOL ) usable for treating fatigue crack propagation test data and predicting the failure life of specimens was made, and the calculated results coincide well with the test results.

Removal of tert-hydrogen on the bone of PP under the condition of hot oxygem worsens the aging resistance of PP. In the paper wollastonite treated by zinc hydrosol/ titanate coupling agent NDS-01 is used to modifyPP. It is shown that with this method the thermooxydative aging resistance and the wet heat aging resistance of filled PP are effectively improved.

聚丙烯(PP)主链上存在的大量叔氢在热氧作用下失去劣化了这类通用塑料的防老化性能。本工作用锌溶胶/钛酸酯偶联剂NDS-01(R_3Ti-0-TiR_3,R=-OOC(CH_2)_7CH_2CHCl(CH_2)_7CH_3)处理硅灰石对PP进行填充改性,有效地提高了PP的防热氧老化和湿热老化性能。
