Repeated measurements of the gravity field around the epicentral region, before and after the Haicheng Earthquake of February 2, 1975, revealed the fact that the gravity values systematically varied.In June, 1972, a gravity profile was established from the point Beizhen (北镇) in the north and Zhuanghe (庄河) in the south and actually surveyed. In November of the same year and in May of 1973 the profile was again surveyed twice. A maximum decrease of the relative gravity values, amounting to -352 μ gals was detected....

Repeated measurements of the gravity field around the epicentral region, before and after the Haicheng Earthquake of February 2, 1975, revealed the fact that the gravity values systematically varied.In June, 1972, a gravity profile was established from the point Beizhen (北镇) in the north and Zhuanghe (庄河) in the south and actually surveyed. In November of the same year and in May of 1973 the profile was again surveyed twice. A maximum decrease of the relative gravity values, amounting to -352 μ gals was detected. After the Haicheng earthquake of magnitude 7.3, a gravity survey in March, 1975 was carried out along the same profile. It was found that the gravity profile essentially returned to the level of their starting values of June, 1972. In July, 1975, another repeated survey was done, the results showed a further increase of the relative gravity values, reaching a maximum of +382 μ gals. After that, until December, 1976, several surveys were made in succession, but the profile maintained essentially the same level as that of July, 1975. Hence, it can be presumed that the gravity field within the epicentral region of the main shock decreased before and increased after the earthquake.By analysing the field method of observation and of its accuracy, the gravity data so obtained could be considered as reliable. It seems that the variation of the gravity field is closely related to the earthquake occurrence of the Haichengarea.

海城地震前后重力重复测量结果表明:在极震区及其附近地区重力场发生了显著的有规律性的变化. 1972年6月建立北镇—庄河重力复测剖面开始重力观测,同年11月及1973年5月进行了两次复测,发现辽东半岛地区重力场减小,最大达-352微伽.1975年3月震后进行了第一次复测,重力场却已基本回升到1972年6月建点时的水平.7月份再次复测,其结果表明重力场继续升高,最大达+382微伽.其后直至1976年12月多次进行复测,重力场基本保持在1975年7月的水平.因此,震中区震前重力场下降、震后上升的特征相当清楚. 通过对工作方法和观测精度的分析,说明重力测量成果是可靠的,重力场变化的原因与地震的孕育过程有着密切关系.

The paper summarizes the gravimetrieal works which were done during the 30-year's period after the founding of the People's Republic of China. First of all, we have accomplished the general gravity survey throughout the country. Besides, very dense gravity surveys were carried out around the astronomical points of the astro-geodetic nets, in order to provide the, precisions for the calculations of the astro-gravi-metric levellings. Other surveys were also done for special purposes, such as for geo-physical prospectings...

本文总结了我国解放三十年来重力学上的成就。首先叙述了我国普遍重力测量工作。此外,围绕天文大地测量网的天文点周围进行了十分密集的重力测量,以保证天文重力水准计算的精度。还进行了作为地球物理勘探及其他科学研究昕用的重力测量。由天文重力水准所得的天文大地高程异常图已经完成,空间异常及布格异常图正在编制之中。在理论研究方面,也进行了不少的工作。
