Studies were carried out by hydraulic modeling on flow morphology and particle floatation behaviour conducted by different modes of dams built inside the continuous casting tundish, among which the dual dam is beneficial to the purification of molten steel. Results from productive application of tundishes with such a type of dam are consistent well with those of the hydraulic tests. Compared with those incorporating only one single dam, the oxide inclusions in the concast slabs can be reduced at least one grade,...

The effects of weirs in continuous casting tundishes on the non-metallic inclusion elimination were investigated on a water model.The results show that there is no significant effects of weirs on the elimination of non-metallic inclusions with large sizes. In case of improper use of the weirs a negative influence appears. A relationship between the casting speed and the critical size of the non-metallic inclusions is given.

在力学模型上研究了挡渣墙在连铸中间包内对排除夹杂物的作用。研究结果表明,在设计的条件下,挡渣墙对排除一般大型夹杂物没有明显作用,如运用不当,反而会增加铸坯内的夹杂物。给出了拉速和夹杂临界直径的关系。
