    This paper contains two parts. The first part describes the calculation of the gas flow during the compression stroke in the variable throat area precombustion chamber (VTAPO) with an electric digital computer, analyses the influence of the main structural parameters of VTAPC on the pressure change of main and auxiliary combustion chambers, on the velocity at throat area and on the magnitude of throttling losses, and then gives some corresponding conclusions.
