This paper is aimed to present the author's consideration of translating and introducing Tai_Ji Boxing of Yang Style to a group of American students.It is focused on two aspects:1)The tentative measures to deal with the conceptual ideas of Tai_Ji Boxing as cultural defaults in the target language;2)How to effectively translate the names of Tai_Ji Boxing movements with the consideration of their cultural,conceptual and functional meanings.

本文是为外国留学生翻译和讲解太极拳的体会。翻译太极拳词汇主要涉及两个方面 :一、作为典型的中国文化思想和思维方式的产物 ,太极拳的拳法是太极拳运动的精髓 ,也是译语文化的缺省部分 ,翻译者面临的问题是如何为译语受众建构有效的认知图式 ,从而建立他们能够理解的通道 ;二、翻译杨式太极拳的各式名称涉及到如何在翻译过程中针对原语名称的文化意义、概念意义和功能意义进行有效转换。
