Stereotypical relations are the relations inherent in things themselves, and they could, through the cognitive refraction, be turned into a cognitive instrument in the process of language use.When applied to English aural comprehension training,the stereotypical relation theory can be very helpful in improving students ,exactness in understanding and their ability to foretell the coming information.Following a brief account of the stereotypical relation theory,four aspects are discussed about the application of this theory to the teaching of aural training of college English,ie:to form cognitive ability in the stereotypical relations of the culturally implied words and expressions,to master the stereotypical relations of English sentence structures,to learn the stereotypical relations of decoding process in the English mode of thinking,and to develop the sense of “stereotypical relation”.

常规关系是事物自身的关系 ,经过认知的折射 ,能成为把握语言的认知工具 .常规关系运用于听力教学过程不仅有助于培养学生的听力理解的准确能力 ,而且有助于培养学生的听力预测能力 .在概述“常规关系”理论的基础上 ,从 4个方面论述了这一理论对大学英语听力教学的启示及在教学实践中的运用 :即培养对文化词汇的常规关系认知力 ;掌握英语句型结构的常规关系模式 ;认识英语思维解码过程的常规关系模式 ;培养“常规关系”意识

Stereotypical relations are the relations inherent in things themselves, and they could, through the cognitive refraction, be turned into a cognitive instrument in the process of language use. When applied in English listening teaching, stereotypical relation theory can be very helpful to improve students' exact listening comprehensibility as well as their listening predictability. This paper mainly deals with the application of this theory in English listening teaching from four aspects: to develop students' cognitive ability of cultural vocabulary's stereotypical relation; to develop students' cognitive ability of English - Chinese sentence structures' stereotypical relation model; to grasp the cultural thought model in context and construct the stereotypical relation model in the process of different language decoding; to develop students' stereotypical relation consciousness.

常规关系是事物自身的关系经过认知的折射,成为把握语言的认知工具。常规关系运用于听力教学不仅有助于培养学生的准确理解听力的能力,也有助于培养学生的听力预测能力,进而能够提高其听力水平。

The Stereotypical Relation is an important concept in New-Grice pragmatic mechanism.It is a perspective,a schema,a framework and a model to understand the world either with or without consciousness.This paper briefly introduces the theory of Stereotypical Relation,and then discusses the significance of this theory in teaching listening and the methods to improve students' consciousness of the Stereotypical Relation.

常规关系是新格赖斯语用机制中一个极为重要的概念。常规关系是人们自觉或不自觉认识事物的一种视角、一种图式、一种框架、一种模型。文章简单介绍了常规关系的理论,讨论了在听力教学中培养学生的常规关系意识的意义及方法,认为在听力教学中培养学生的常规关系意识,有助于提高学生的听力预测能力,增强学生对于涉及英语国家文化的听力内容的理解能力,从而达到通过语言教学提高学生跨文化交际能力的目的。
