Two commercial hot rolled 20 steel wire rods which contain different amount of carbon i.e.upper limit and lower limit of 20 steel carbon content were studied. After quenching at various temperature in intercritical region and tempering at 200 ̄500℃, mechanical property and cold drawing ability of the steel wire were examined.Accoding to test results,the optimal heat-treatment technology is 800℃ quenching and 500℃ tempering.

In this paper, the effect of cold drawing on the structure and properties of LY12 aluminium alloy bars before quenching has been studied.It is shown that cold drawing has obvious effect on the structure and properties. The coarse grains on the one side of LY12 alumimium alloy extruded bars can be reduced or eliminated by proper cold drawing. The cause and elimination methods are discussed.
