NiO/Al2O3 self-lubricating wear resistant ceramic matrix composite coatings with a microstructure consisting of Al2O3 primary dendrites and the inter-dendritic film-like NiO solid lubricant phase were fabricated on Al2O3 ceramic substrate by laser cladding with Al2O3-NiO ceramic powder blends.

The manufacturing method and physical property and friction and wear characteristics of solid self-lubrication cage material used in high vacuum have been discussed. The effect of technology parameters of MoS_2 solid lubrication on material property has been also introduced, and the simulating test of the rolling bearings has been made. The results show that combined properties of the cage is fine, meeting the need of application of rolling bearings in high vacuum.
