To solve the problem in designing a cam mechanism with its follower making a complicated planar movement, according to the equations of cam profile and expression of pressure angle of cam mechanism with its follower making a complicated planar movement, this article introduces a method by which the strong calculating functions of MATLAB are used to compute parameters, draw cam profile and simulate the motion in designing cam mechanism.
From the point of practical application, a new proposition is described in which a cam is designed according to its output force. In addition, a design equation for the cam is proposed which used the variable coefficient and the proportion of power work and resistance work in a certain interval. Numerical method is adopted to determine the coordinates of points in cam contour curve and the pressure angle.
Proposed a kind of principle based on the analysis method to design cam contour,take Matlab as the platform,and Excel as an intermediate station. The method through the man-machine interactive mapping,has realized on plotting cam contour in the AutoCAD.
Improper selection of radius of cam mechanism follower bawl can make cam work curve become sharp or appear distortion. The selection of bawl radius is made by discussion of the relationship between bawl radius r T and cam curve and theoretical calculation of bawl radius r T.
