The combined effects of heat stress and carbon monoxide (CO) have been studied through acute and subacute experiments,with emphasis on the level of liver mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation.Compared with normal rats,there is only a slight decrease in the ADP/O ratio of the liver mitochondria in rats separately exposed to heat or CO,but|the ADP/O ratio is reduced dramatically after concurrent exposure of rats to heat and CO both in acute and subacute experimants.The results indicate that combined exposure to heat and CO leads to a loss of oxidative phosphorylation or ATP production and that the combined effects of heat stress and CO on energy metabolism may be of synergistic nature.

The experimental animals were subjected to a simulating altitude of 6000 meter at a temperature of 10±2℃ for 48 hours. It was found that the pulmonary blood volume(PBV) decreased while the PEW increased slightly. If the temperature was reduced to -5?C, then both the PBV and PEW increased significantly (P<0.01). It was also found that cold could enable PEW to increase (P<0.05), and the combined effecst of cold and hypoxia on PEW was even more remarkable(P<0.01).It is postulated that the mechanism of the increase of PEW under cold and hypoxic conditions is most likely through the exaggeration of the hypoxic pulmonary hypertension which can in turn induce pulmonary edema. And the contraction of the pulmonary veins and the increase of PBV under cold conditions may be secondary to the increase of PEW.

Sixty-eight rats were randomly divided into 4 groups, the control group, hy-poxia group, pulmonary embolism group, and combied hypoxia-pulmonary embolism group. Hypoxia was created by putting the animals under a simulated 6000 meter altitude in hypobaric chamber for 48 hours, and pulmonary embolism in rats was induced by injecting toad red cells via the tail vein. The rats were anesthetized and right ventricular pressure.(RVP) was measured. Then 51Cr-labelled rat red cells were injected via the femoral vein....

Hypoxia was created by putting the animals under a simulated 6000 meter altitude in hypobaric chamber for 48 hours, and pulmonary embolism in rats was induced by injecting toad red cells via the tail vein. The rats were anesthetized and right ventricular pressure.(RVP) was measured. Then 51Cr-labelled rat red cells were injected via the femoral vein. 10 minutes after injection, 1 ml of blood was drawn from the carotid artery and the lungs were excised. Eventually the dry weight of bloodless pulmonary tissues(PTDW), the lung-body index(ILB), and the pulmonary extravascular water(PEW) were obtained after calcutions according to the Balie's formula.It was found that either hypoxia or pulmonary embolism could increase RVP but the combination of hypoxia and embolism resulted in a more marked RVP increase, that the combined effect of hypoxia and pulmonary embolism could increase more markedly both PTDW and ILB than hypoxia alone, and that PEW showed a most significant increase in the combined hypoxia-pulmonary embolism group. These results indicate that the combined effect of hypoxia and pulmonary embolism can markedly increase PEW and the increase of PEW is related to high pulmonary vascular resistance, , which is the result of the damage of pulmonary microvasculalure by hypoxia and pulmonary microembolism.

大鼠68只,分为对照组、单纯缺氧组、单纯栓塞组和缺氧复合肺微栓塞组。在减压舱内模拟6000m高原48h造成低压缺氧;自尾静脉注入20%甲醛固定的蟾蛛红细胞造成肺微栓塞。各组动物在麻醉下,测右心室内压,然后经股静脉注入~(51)Cr标记的大鼠红细胞,10min后自颈动脉取血1ml,立即开胸取肺。称量血和肺湿重后,分别测定其放射活性,然后将标本置70℃恒温箱内烤干、称量肺和血干重。根据公式计算无血肺组织干重、肺体指数、肺血管外含水量。结果表明,缺氧和栓塞均使右心室收缩压升高,缺氧复合肺微栓塞组右心室收缩压最高。单纯缺氧时无血肺组织干重增加,缺氧复合肺微栓时,干重增加更明显。缺氧复合肺微栓塞组的肺血管外含水量显著高于对照组和单纯栓塞组。
