    During recent years rock-fill dams are widely employed as tailings dams in China. Because of the limitations of damsite topographical conditions, a manual construction method is used in most mines, which requires long construction time and high costs. The fast, economic, efficient damming method with directional throw blasting has not been applied yet in many areas. This paper reviews the ex- perience from several mines in China in the use of directional blasting for building tailings dams. It is...

    During recent years rock-fill dams are widely employed as tailings dams in China. Because of the limitations of damsite topographical conditions, a manual construction method is used in most mines, which requires long construction time and high costs. The fast, economic, efficient damming method with directional throw blasting has not been applied yet in many areas. This paper reviews the ex- perience from several mines in China in the use of directional blasting for building tailings dams. It is understood that the expected darnming results can be obtained under bad topographical conditions by means of twin bank blasting, low elevation charge arrangement, linear shaped charge, equal symmetrical charge as well as millisecond delay blasting in two rows. The paper describes topographical conditions for damming, measures to over- come the difficulties due to bad topographical conditions, results of linear charge tests and a dam-construction case study with directional throw blasting technique under bad topographical conditions. The practice demonstrates that construction of a tailings dam by means of direc- tional throw blasting is a versatile, fast, good and economic damming method. Study- ing the possibilities of applying directional throw blasting for tailings dam con- struction under bad conditions will help to relax the restriction in general damsite conditions, thus widening the method's application. This would in turn be of impor- tance in accelerating metal mine construction.

    近年来,国内矿山广泛应用堆石坝做尾矿坝的基础坝。由于坝址受地形条件的限制,常采用工期长、造价高的人工堆坝方法;而建设快、投资省、工效高的定向爆破施工方法没有广泛应用。本文分析了国内几个矿山应用定向爆破堆筑尾矿坝的经验,认为在不利地形条件下,采取双岸爆破、双排毫秒爆破、布置低位药包、等量对称药包和条形药包等一系列技术措施,能够达到预期的筑坝目的。文中论述了筑坝的地形条件、克服不利地形条件的技术措施、条形药包试验成果和在不利地形条件下应用定向爆破筑坝实例。实践表明.定向爆破堆筑尾矿坝是一种多快好省的施工方法。而探讨在不利地形条件下应用定向爆破堆筑尾矿坝的可能性,有助于打破传统的对坝址建设条件过严要求,从而扩大其应用范围,这对加速冶金矿山建设具有重大意义。

    堆石坝就地取材,节省大量水泥,适用于交通不便的地区。但是,至今为止还缺乏关于堆石坝沉降计算的方法和公式。本文分析了引起斜墙堆石坝沉降的主要因素是蓄水水压力,进而提出了近似的计算方法,并根据已有实测沉降资料,得出简化计算公式。目前,虽然可用有限单元法进行堆石坝的应力和位移的分析,但是有限单元法的计算基本假定与堆石坝的实际工作情况有较多出入,加以所选用的堆石坝物理力学指标难以符合实际,致使有限单元法算出的沉降值与实测值相差很火。本文建议的近似方法对设计工作具有一定的实用意义。
