    The research on and development of the community of active filters arevery important to the simplification of the design of active networks, the realizationof large scale integration and the reduction in prices. But no sufficient attention hasbeen paid to this problem by engineers and technicians as yet. In this paper, on thebasis of the analysis and realization of the automated tracking active BP filter, itis emphasized that one of solutions for community is to make use of adaptive networks. The system requires no reference frequency other than the input signal, no internaloscillator and no synchronization circuit, as compared with the former adaptive system.Therefore, its circuit is simple and stable. In addition, it has these advantages: au-tomatic adjustment of its center frequency to track the signal frequency, transformationof waveforms, and selection of the fundamental from a nonsinusoidal periodic signal etc.

A necessary and sufficient condition for the emergence of a structured receptive field is presented.     In terms of an analysis of the nonlinear, asymmetric dynamics of Linsker's layered self adaptive network, we first determine the whole set of fixed point attractors of the network and their stability is established. A necessary and sufficient condition for the emergence of a structured receptive field is presented. Thus the parameter regime to ensure the development of a desired structured receptive field can be obtained explicitly. For given synaptic density functions, the parameter regime of (k 1,k 2) , in which a structured pattern of connection strengths develops, is a band between two parallel lines. The breadth of the band is given by d 1(·) and d 2(·) depending on the covariance matrix q . The shape of the receptive field is totally governed by the synaptic density function between source and target cell layers and so by k 1,k 2 , while the existence of a parameter regime for the occurrence of such a receptive field is determined by d 1(·), d 2(·) , and therefore by the covariance matrix q . According to results above, we then refigure the emergence of various structured connection strengths between the second and third layer in detail. In principle, our rigorous analysis based upon the nonlinear dynamics of Linsker's network conforms with most of results gained in the numerical simulation and linear analysis of Linsker's network before. Of course, a modification of some of them is carried out here.

    A new model of neural networkwavelet neural network was introduced. The chemical substance infrared spectral compression representation and classification were realized with adaptive network structure and daughter wavelet, and the satisfactory results were gained. This demonsrates that the wavelet network has bright application prospects and advantages in spectra processing.
