Different compositions of domestic HDPE/LLDPE are blended. The tensile strength, meltindex,torque rheology and DSC of the blends are studied systematically. However, the crystalline phase of the glass remained unchanged and it wasfound to be LaB3O6. Both Y2O3 and Gd2O3 act as modifiers in the glass structure. These glasses have high refractive indices (nd>1.70) and low dispersion coefficients (v<55).
