In this paper, the static equations of the tube structure in superhigh buildings is analyzed by finite strip method. The lateral rigid matrix is obtained by means of the static reduction technique first. Then the mass of structure is concentrated equivalently on each of floors and the basic equatjons of coupled translation-torsion vibration of fhe structure are derived. Hence the earthquake loads can be calculated according to the response spectrum theory.
