By the use of a platinum wire-glass type standard leak and a simple filling system, it is convenient to calibrate the sensitivity... In this paper we have studied and reviewed various definitions of the sensitivity and its calibration methods collected up-to-date. A more precise definition of the sensitivity and the concentration sensitivity of mass spectrometer leak detector and a coresponding calibration method are presented. By the use of a platinum wire-glass type standard leak and a simple filling system, it is convenient to calibrate the sensitivity within the range of leak rate from 10-6 to 10-13 litre-torr per second strictly according to definition, and to study the relations between the output indication of the instrument and leak rate and between sensitivity and working conditions (such as working pressure, heating power of the diffusionpump, etc.).
