As to the degree of exploration, it should be decided on the basis of the scale of mine construction (large or small) and the mining and dressing conditions (easy or difficult) .For prospective iron ore area or an anomaly zone, where the ore occurrence regularity has not been thoroughly studied , detailed geological investigation and mapping should be made. For a new orefield(belt) ,a detailed geological and a geophysical surveys at a medium-large scale on the basis of small scaled metallogenetic prognosis map (<1:50000 or 1:100000) should be unde rtaken. It is nessary to strengthen the ore exploration and evaluation work. Detailed prospecting should be confined within necessary limits. For deposits with ores not freely to be mined and dressed, including those not listed in ten year construction plan, it is inadvisable to do detail prospecting until the mining and dressing methods for the ores have been found. Ore composition study and beneficiation test should be strengthened in order to provide more information

为提高找矿勘探工作的有效性,必须使其与矿山的建设和开发相结合。在找矿勘探地区的选择上,应优先选现有生产和建设矿区及其外围;在矿床类型上,应以富铁矿或易采易选的磁铁贫矿为主;在勘探程度上,应根据矿床的规模,采选的难易来确定。对已工作过的铁矿远景区(带),而矿产赋存规律尚不清楚的区段或磁异常区,应加强研究和填制地质图;对新矿带,要在小比例尺(<1/5万~1/10万)成矿预测图的基础上,进行大、中比例尺的地质测量和物探工作。要加强普查找矿和评价工作,限制详细勘探。凡难采难选的矿床,在采选方法未解决前不宜详勘。十年内未列入建设规划者亦不宜详勘。要加强矿石物质组分的研究和选冶试验,为铁矿的利用提供必要的资料。

On the basis of this, by using the method of genetic model of geology, the ore-forming pattern has been transformed into the methodological model of genetic geology, the model of metallogenetic prognosis fo the scale of deposits, the prognosis model of the probability of mineral prospecting and the ore grade of ore deposits. By the application of those models to do the prognostic work in the prognosis area, to find out the total amount of this type of manganese ore resources of the province, to differentiate the metallogenic prospect and the prognosis area, to do the technique economic evaluation and the geological interpretation to the prognostic deposits, to prove the reliability of the results of the prognosis, we have put forward the following suggestions for further works which provides certain practical significance to carry out the prospecting of manganese ore in the further.

在充分认识湖南省早震旦世锰矿成矿区域地质背景、矿床特征、控矿因素、成矿规律,矿床成因从而建立该类锰矿成矿模式的基础上,用成因地质模型法将其成矿模式转化为成因地质方法模型及矿床规模、找矿概率和矿床品位预测模型。应用这些模型对预测区进行预测,求出全省该类锰矿的资源总量,划分成矿远景区和预测区,对预测矿床进行技术经济评价和地质解释,论证预测结果的可靠性,提出下步工作意见。这对湖南今后的找锰矿工作具有一定实际意义。
