In this paper we examine the relationship between the monthly mean precipitation distribution over Asia-Africa monsoon regions (0-40°N, 30°W-150°E) and the TEJ in June, July and August, The results are as follows:1. The month-to-month variations of precipitation distribution and intensity depend on the migration and strength of TEJ. The precipitation under different part of the TEJ has their own characteristics. There is plenty of precipitation on the right side of the entrance and the left side of the exit of the TEJ. Calculation from mean vertical velocities has shown that the relationship between the TEJ and precipitation distribution may be explained by the dynamic mechanism of the TEJ.2. A comparison study was made between 1972 and 1975.In 1972 the precipitation was less over most areas in Asia-Africa, It is found that the TEJ in 1975 was stronger than in 1972, the area over which easterly wind velocities are greater than 20 m/sec was larger in 1975 than in 1972 and the TEJ axis was further north in 1975. The easterly wind velocities in the central part of the TEJ were greater in 1975. The connection between precipitation and the TEJ was most clearly observed in Indian peninsula and western Africa.3. Analysis on the data of 1966-1975 has shown that the year to year variation of precipitation is associated with the variation of the TEJ strength. Both the year to year variation of precipitation and the strength of easterly wind show an obvious 2-3 year period.

The dynamic mechanism of stratospheric sudden warming is studied by using a diabatic quasi-geostrophic three level model in a β-plane channel. On the basis of the analytic formula about the effect of mean fields on disturbances, the effect of disturbances on mean fields, and the interaction between the stratosphere and the troposphere, the author finds out some atmospheric conditions which are in favor of rapid developing of waves related to stratospheric sudden warming. These conditions include the strong sensible heat exchange and vertical shear in the troposphere, and small static stability in the stratosphere.The changes of both mean zonal temperature and zonal wind of model atmosphere are caused only by eddy heat transport. The whole warming event may be divided into three stages, according to different mechanisms in the process of coming into being, developing and passing away of the event. These mechanisms can largely explain occurring of abnormal circulation in the stratosphere and troposphere during stratospheric sudden warming and returning then to normal regime.

本文用一个β平面纬向通道非绝热准地转的三层模式,研究平流层爆发性增温的动力机制.根据平均场对扰动的影响、扰动对平均场的影响以及平流层和对流层相互作用的解析表达式,得出有利于爆发性增温有关的自由行波异常增幅的大气条件.主要包括对流层的强感热交换、强切变和平流层的小静力稳定度. 模式大气的纬向平均温度和纬向风场变化都只由扰动热输送引起.整个增温过程按其产生、发展和消失的不同机制可分成三个时期:增温前期、增温盛期和增温后期.这些机制可以大致说明一些爆发性增温期间平流层和对流层大气环流出现异常以及随后又恢复到正常冬季环流的过程.

By using a two-level quasi-geostrophic spectral model, the numerical experiments on blocking process effected by thermal forcing are conducted. The dynamic mechanisms of blocking, including the resonance between wave and forcing, the control effects of thermal forcing on the position and the intensity of the highs and the instabilities of two kinds of equilibrium states, etc., are studied by controlled experiments.

采用一个准地转两层波谱模式,进行了在热力强迫作用下阻塞的非常定演变过程的数值试验,试验结果说明了实际阻塞形成、维持及崩溃过程的一些典型特点。本文并用大量的控制性试验,探讨了波动与强迫源的非线性共振、强迫源对阻塞位相及强度的控制作用、各类平衡态稳定性等阻塞形势动力机制的问题。
