The great achievements of this university in scientific research during the 35 years since the founding of the People's Republic of China under the leadership of the Party are described in this paper. The university has gone through four stages of scientific research. Ⅰ. Starting with the period (1949—1956): Most of the teachers selected their own research topics based on the academic speciality of the old teachers. Although there were not many scientific research projects and topics, they reflected a significant level of academic research and showed particular characteristics; Ⅱ. A period of Overall expansion (1956—1966): Scientific research developed overall from decentralized and self-selected research to unified, organized, and planned research; Ⅲ. A period of Frustration and reversal (1966—1976): Because of ten years of internal disorder, scientific research in this unversity was hit by an unprecedented setback. Under extremely difficult circumstances, many teachers persisted in their work and did not allow their scientific research to completely stop; Ⅳ. A period of Flourishing (1976-present): Under a corrected line the mind and inspiring enthu- siasm, the scientific research of this university has taken on a new and flourishing look, A series of gratifying achievements have been accomplished by unifying the methods of basic research and applied research, and by developing interdisciplinary research. When we look to the future, the responsibilities and tasks are heavy and the road is long, This university is determined to follow the guidelines stride forward to wards the great goals of education and scientific research.

The reform of this hasn't long steps and reached a deep level. We suppose on the P. E. lessons offered in colleges and universities, the systematization of physical education should be emphasized aucrding to the sociality should be emphasized auurding to the goal of education and featres of the era closely while integrating with the specific condition of each school. Center on developing the students' consciousness, interest and fondness, so that the students can master one to two kinds of spirts technique, skills and means for exericses on the basis of developing their bodies and mind overall. Thus Create necessary conditions and lay foundation for lifelong sports.

经对我国普通高校目前体育教学的课程设置、教材内容,教学形式及考核内容办法的调查研究,较普遍的仍沿袭了传统的框架与模式,体育教学改革的步子不大、力度不深,我们认为在高校体育课程设置上应强调体育教育的系统性,紧扣教育目标及时代特征,并结合本校具体情况,强调科学性,实用性及社会性,着重培养学生的体育意识、兴趣与爱好,在全面发展学生身心的基础上,能掌握1—2项体育技术、技能及锻炼方法手段,为终身体育奠定基础,创造必要的条件。
