High-speed magnifying photography is an economical non-intrusive measurement method. It can be used to measure the droplet size in flight. This paper describes the measurement theory, experimental devices and the measurement results of this technique used for the determination of droplets atomized by an industrial burner.

The buckling failure of reverse-buckling disk is practically a problem of stability of thin spherical shells under external pressure.In this paper, a formula for evaluating the buckling pressure of a reverse-buckling rupture disk, P_c=KE(S/R)~2, based on the analyses and comparisons of different buckling theories of thin spherical shells, was proposed, and the different parameters influencing the value of K were studied in details, including the effects of material thickness, dome height, base diameter of disk, fillet radius and clamping construction types of the edge. Tested disks were made of stainless steel, aluminum and copper respectively, the diameters of which were 65 mm and 91.3 mm. Disks were tested at room temperature. In addition to being tested for hydraulic pressure, the disks with knife device were also tested for gas pressure. Simultaneously, the high speed photography was taken and stress-strain measurement was made to investigate the buckling process of disks.Through considerable experiments and evaluations, it has been found that the method presented in this paper for evaluating the buckling pressure closely meets the engineering requirements and the formula recommended here may be used by the engineering designers for reference.

反挠型爆破膜的屈曲失效实际上是一个薄球壳在外压作用下的稳定问题。在分析比较各种薄球壳失稳理论的基础上,归纳出适用于反挠型爆破膜屈曲压力计算的公式p_c=KE(S/R),对与K值有关的各项参数,包括材料厚度S_o、膜片的拱高h和底直径d、转角半径r及边界夹持结构型式等,进行了详细的分析研究。试件系用不锈钢、铜、铝等三种材质的箔材制成,膜片直径分别为d=65mm及91.3mm,在室温下进行试验。除对膜片进行液压屈曲试验外,还对带刀具的膜片进行气压验证。另外,还做了高速摄影及应力-应变测试,以考察膜片屈曲过程的特性。通过大量的测试计算,说明本文所推荐的膜片屈曲压力计算公式能满足生产实际的要求,可供工程设计人员参考。

The effect of cavity size and cavity density on surfaces with artificial nucleation sites, on bubble diameter and trequency of departure in pool nucleate boiling was studied by using high-speed photography and laser fiber probe.
