By simulating oxalic acid/oxalate concentrations in forest litter leachate,a series of experiments were conducted including one-time extraction and repeated sequential extraction,with the oxalate loading rate varying from 0 to 200 mmol kg~(-1) soil.
With a data set of Eurasian forest litter fall based on 471 stands, annual litterfall was estimated to be 6.53 Pgdm a-1 (1 Pg = 1015 g; dm, dry matter) in Eurasian forests, of which more than half occurred in tropical and subtropical forests, and a third in the boreal area.
The subject is Chinese fir plantation, trough the manual simulation nitrogen deposition (N0, N1, N2, N3) to understand the effects of nitrogen deposition on forest litter and its decomposition process.
In this paper a study was made of the Picea balfouriana plantation that was regenerated in 1966 in the alpine forest region in Guagu of Heishui county of Western Sichuan,and its forest litter was collected and analysized.
The results showed that the water holding capacity of ten forest types in Ashihe-drainage basin is very high. The forest litter can hold as much as four multiples than itself. The average of that (353.70%) is higher than the countrywide average index (309.54%) of holding water rate on literature.
