Directing to the obvious nonlinear characteristics of ZnO elements,this paper investigates the algorithms for combination of the series single column of nonlinear ZnO varistors.The algorithm in the academic thesis [1] is improved and the limitations of this algorithm in engineering application are removed.A new combination algorithm is proposed,it can be easily realized in computer.Simulation results show that the algorithm is of high efficiency and good accuracy.
