After brushing bamboo with slushing compound and melted petroleum asphalt, the percentages of water-absorption of bamboo are 6.1% and 3.8%, respectively, after immersion in watertfor seven days. If bamboo is coated with an alcoholic solution of rosin, the water-proof effect is not great and is not proportional to the concentration of rosin. A double alternate coat of an alcoholic solution of rosin (3:10) or a solution of rosin and celluloid in alcohol and acetone, followed by a coat of melted petroleum asphalt cuts down the percentage of water-absorption of bamboo to 1.9% or 1.1% in seven days. In order to obtain a satisfcatory result, we must investigate the right way of brushing.

Calculating methods of strengthening and repairing measures of brick masonry structures are described in this paper. These methods are based on the available testing data of the institutes concerned. The strengthening and repairing measures used are as follows.1. Cement mortar coating, reinforced cement mortar coating attached to the wall surfaces or reinforced concrete columns with tie beams were used for strengthening walls.2. Reinforced cement mortar attached to the surface or steel angles at the corners were used for strengtheing columns.3. Vertical and circular steel strips attached to the surface were used for strengthening chimneys.This paper shows that the calculating results with this methods are more close to the testing data than those calculated by the availabe current methods.

本文在分析有关单位现有试验资料的基础上,提出了用水泥砂浆抹面、钢筋网水泥砂浆抹面及外加钢筋混凝土柱修复加固砖墙,用钢筋网水泥砂浆抹面及外包角钢加固砖柱,用外包竖向和环向扁钢加固砖烟囱的计算方法。与现有的计算方法相比,本文所述方法的计算结果与试验值更为接近。

On the basis of synthetic analysis of construction projects investigations and experimental results, this paper states the primary influential factors of carbonization of concrete and corrosion of steel, and the chief damages produced on reinforced concrete structures. In consideration of the demand of structural durability, a suggestion on the minimum protective coating thickness of concrete and the corresponding measures to ensure the quality of concrete construction is presented.

本文在综合分析工程调查与试验结果的基础上,阐述了在一般使用条件下的混凝土碳化与钢筋锈蚀的主要影响因素,及其对钢筋混凝土结构产生的主要危害。考虑结构耐久性的要求,就保护层最小厚度的取值和保证混凝土施工质量的相应措施,提出了建议。
