During the large-scale application of nitrogen-fixing blue-green algal mixture in the late rice cultivation, we have developed a series of methods for mass cultivation and production of algal inoculum, including the cultivation in the algal nursery bed in the field, and open air mass culture of algae in the resting field between the two crops. By these procedures, more than 30 tons of algal inoculum had been produeed and were introduced into the late rice field. After strengthened management, 990 mu of late rice fields of Xianfeng Production Brigade were fully algalized. The inoculated fields showed exuberant algal growth and no less than 500 kg of algae (fresh weight) per mu was found. Estimated by random sampling, the establishment of nitrogen-fixing blue-green algae in the inoculated rice fields amounted to about 500 tons.The algalization of the late rice cultivation made an average increase of about 10% in the grain yield, individually more than 20%, as compared with the control.Therefore, it is possible that the algalization of the late rice field by inoculation of nitrogen-fixing blue-green aglae has good prospects as a new resource of supplement fertilizer for the late rice cultivation.

通过晚稻田大面积放养固氮蓝藻试验,我们初步提出了土池大量培养和茬口田大面积生产藻种等一系列的培养和生产藻种的技术措施;生产了30吨的鲜藻种接种到晚稻田中。经过加强管理,先锋大队990亩晚稻田全部养藻化。接种的藻生长旺盛,平均产量达到1000斤/亩以上。抽样测产估计,晚稻田中鲜藻量达到500吨。晚稻田养藻使水稻增产约10%,个别达到20%以上。因此,晚稻田放养固氮蓝藻为晚稻开辟了新的有希望的肥源。

For developing of mass cultivation of Spirulina platensis, strain selection has attracted more and more attention. In this paper, 6 strains of S. platensis (SW1, SW2, SW3, SW4, SCS and P) are reported to be isolated and domesticted in sea-water media. These strains are quite different from each other in their physiological characteristics, e.g. optimum growth temperature, light sensitivity, content of pigments and protein, and grow ability in sea water. It was found that strain SCS was the best one among six for growing in sea water. This new strain not only can grow normally in sea water, but also enhance its biomass production obviously. Its adaptive temperature ranges from 25℃to 37℃, while the optimum temperature ranges from 30?? to 37??; The pH of media was almost maintained at 10.5 and needn't to be adjusted. The sea water medium can be recycled, providing a economical way for mass cultivation of S. platensis.Experimental results indicated that strain SCS showed its new characteristics, in the following aspects:conditions of cultivation, morphology, protein content, resistence to the stresses and pigment composition.

本文报道从淡水原种中分离筛选出钝顶螺旋藻Spirulina platensis的优良品系SCS的生理特性。该种经过海水驯化后,不仅能在自然海水培养基中生长,而且产量、质量和纯度等方面均明显优于在淡水中培养的同一株系。此外,还具有适应高温和强光等优越的生理特性。

Results of experiments carried out in the Luhuitou beach area in Hainan Province from June 6, 1989 to June 15, 1990 on the use of the semi-continuous method in the mass cultivation of Spirulina platensis strain SCS in an open 113 m2 cement pond show that: 1) the average monthly temperature and total solar irradiance density conditions from March to November in Sanya, Hainan Province are optimal for the growth of Spirulina platensis strain SCS and resulted in an average dry-product yield of 12. 01 g/(m2·d) (dw).2) Buffering of culture medium was not necessary when sea water was used in culturing Spirulina. In the entire process of open, continuous culture, the culture medium was recycled and the pH was always maintained around 10.0, at most, not higher than 10 5, so pH was not a controlling factor. 3) Compared with the use of Zarrouk nutrient culture medium prepared from fresh water, the use of sea water, simplified culture medium and the recycling of culture media gave more economical results in terms of reduced cost of Spirulina dry powder production because sea water itself contained carbonate and nitrogen nutrients as well as trace elements necessary for the growth of the algae. 4) Seawater-cultured Spirulina dry powder has a very high protein content, as high as 68.31% (amino acid content, 6286%), low fat content, low ash content (6.4%), and very ow harmful trace element content and is therefore ideal as health food ingredient, food additives, animal feed, etc. The results of this study provide good scientific basis for the commercial sea water mass culture or Spirulina.

于1989年6月—1990年6月,运用开放式半连续培养的方法在海南省三亚市鹿回头海滩建113m~2养殖池,进行海水螺旋藻大量培养试验研究。结果表明:①海水螺旋藻藻种SCS品系(1984年引进非洲乍得湖Spirulina platensis经分离选育,驯化为海水螺旋藻藻种SCS品系)适宜在热带地区进行大量培养;②用海水培养螺旋藻不需调pH值;③循环使用培养液可以节约肥料和药品,是降低成本的途径之一;④海南省海岸线长,南部气温高,日照充足,在那里生产海水螺旋藻产量高[12.01g/(m~2·d)]、质量好(粗蛋白含量67.28%)。以上几点说明海南省南部滩涂可以大规模生产海水螺旋藻。
