Under definite conditions, absorption of H_2S reaches over 90%. Results also show in the absorption process, CO_2 of coal gas is being only slightly absorbed. Comparing with Thylox and iron-soda processes, the cost for sulfur removal of coal gas in each case is approximately the same. However, the present process actually has distinct advantages over the others in low capital cost, requiring less steel, process being simpler and absorbent being easily obtainable. The disadvantages pertaining to the present process are lime suspension being not fully reacted and utilization of the used suspension being difficult. The present process is being recommended to be applicable to sulfur removal of coal gas from generators of medium size and also in preliminary stage of sulfur removal of synthesis gas.

Tradescantia Micronuclei ( Trad-MCN ) test is a Well-validated system for in situ monitoring of gaseous mutagens or radiation and bioassay for to-xicity or clastogenicity of liquid types of environmental pollutants, drugs and food additives,For testing gaseous mutagens or radiation, excised Tradescantia inflorescences containing meiotic pollen mother cells may be exposed to the agent at the chosen sites of pollution or in the treatment chambers. For testing liquid types, the cuttings are allowed to absorb the agent through the stem and transport the agent to the meiotic pollen mother cells. The chromosome fragments which are induced by the agent at the early meiotic stage become micronuclei at the tetrad stage. Acetocar-mine squash method is utilized to prepare microslides. Frequencies of micronuclei among a large population of tetrads are the reliable indicators of the chromosome damage. This test reveals directly the magnitude of chromosome damage in the germ cells of an eukaryote. It is relatively simple, versatile and efficient. Results of the test can be obtained and analyzed in 24-48 hr. It is, perhaps, the most inexpensive test system known at the present time.

紫露草微核监测法是业已证实为监测环境污染物最有效的一种技术。这个监测法可以在现场测试空气中气体污染物或放射线,又可测定食品中或药物中有毒或有破坏性的液体或水溶性固体物质。如果要测试气体污染物或放射线时,应将紫露草含有花粉母细胞的花序的枝条放在污染环境的现场或是在密封的处理箱中;如果要测液体之类的污染物时,应使花枝由茎吸收污染物而转运到花粉母细胞中。如此,那些在早期减数分裂过程中所引起的染色体断裂部分,将在四分体时期变成微核。显微镜玻片可用醋酸洋红染色法制成。从大量的四分体中所得到的微核频率,可用作染色体损伤程度的指标,此监测法可直接显示出真核生物的生殖细胞染色体损伤的程度。监测的结果可以在二十四至四十八小时之内分析出来。这个监测法可算是目前最简便、最有效的监测系统。
