Calculated journal bearing lubrication of non-Newtonian medium with surface roughness effects
      
To analyze the effects of non-Newtonian lubricants and surface roughness in journal bearing lubrication, a modified Reynolds equation is derived.
      
Numerical results of the lubrication show that the differential viscosity is the principal non-Newtonian property affecting the lubrication, it is determined by the material parameters of the lubricant and is affected by the shearing rate.
      
However, surface roughness has less effect on lubrication results than lubricants' non-Newtonian property.

Lots of contradictions in connection with the task are analyzed and so there comes the conclusion that the temperature rise is the principal contradiction. In order to limit the temperature rises and thermal strains resulted therefrom, suitable measures are taken to suppress the overheating due to preloading and poor lubrication of the bearings and the electrical losses etc. and significant results are then obtained. The method of forced cooling by fluid convection along a helical path in the jacket of the electric motor is adopted in order to facilitate the heat dissipation. Based on the results of analyses and experiments, the new prototype product of electric spindle has been successfully made. The temperature rises and thermal strains are all within normal limits when the spindle runs continuously at high speed. Other characteristic features are also found satisfactory.

本文叙述工农兵学员在大功率电主轴的设计、试制和试验中,坚持辩证唯物主义的观点,分 析了试制电主轴的各种矛盾,找出了主要矛盾──温升。针对温升和由它引起的热变形,在主轴 轴承的预紧、润滑和电机损耗等发热问题上采取了一系列措施,取得了明显的效果。同时在外壳 采用了流体沿筒壁螺旋线受迫对流式的冷却,以加强散热。 根据以上分析和试验而试制成功的电主轴在高速运转时,温升和热变形都比较正常,其它各 项性能指标也都比较理想。
