Soil water storage in layers of 0-200cm atcrop harvest was 29.8-66.9mm more than that before sowing time. The water use efficiency was 0.77-1.40. It can also be concluded that it is effective way of improving water use efficiency of farmland to increase soil fertility and adjusting crop structure and distribution,

This paper analyzed the law of precipitation and dryland soil moisture change and studied the regularity of water requirement of the naked oats under controlling water condition in Bashang, the northwest plateau of Hebei. Results showed that the second ten days in June was the stable drought stage and the soil water content under 40cm horizon was not enoughly used by the crop. It were also showed that the stage from elongation to booting was the most sencitive period to water stress and was the time when water consumption of the naked oats was the fast. It was advanced that promoting the root growth deeper to absorp water from deeper soil horizon and to meet the needs of waterfast comsumed by the crop and adjusting the sowing time in order that the sencitire stage of the naked oats to water stress could miss the stable drought period and the fast water consumption stage could meet the rainy season were the key way to increase the naked oats yield in the dryland soil of this region.
