This paper describes a study on 8736 power capacitors which were installed and operated on a distribution system during 1980 through 1989. Five hundred forty-one (541) failed capacitors were analyzed in this paper. This paper models their failure mathematical mode and calculates their failure rate and reliability level. Failure mechanisms and causes of power capacitors are also discussed in this paper. The partial discharge property is still the critical point for failure mechanism of a capacitor. Some useful conclusions are presented both for power system operators and the manufacturers.

In this paper,we discuss a mathematical mode) for optimization of active power dispatch of large-scale hydro-thermal power systems with cascaded hydropower stations. The following factors are taken into account: the variation of the head in the hydropower stations, water transport delay between cascaded stations etc. Using the decomposition-coordination method of large scale systems, we obtain a three-layer-hierarchical coordination system and a three-layer-hierarchical computational structure. We also discuss the computational methods which are used by each hierarchy. We have taken a test computation and analysing the result of an actual hydrothermal power system. The computational results show that it may obtain a satisfactory economic benefit. The paper provides some research work on the economic scheduling of hydrothermal power systems by the decomposition-coordination method of large-scale systems,multiplier method and a new variable metric method.

自激振荡是高压直流开断的重要方式。本文对高压直流断路器的自激振荡开断过程进行数学分析,推导出产生自激振荡的临界时间常数,并用电弧的伏安特性与数学模型进行比较,得到了直流断路器的模型参数,讨论了自激振荡回路各元件对开断过程的影响,为大电流断路器的设计提供了依据。
