The model is proved applicable to practical operation through experimental...

Using the principles of classical mechanics together with the mechanics of particalate media concerned, an analysis is made to the movement of burden material in the bell-free top of a blast furnace. A mathematical model is thus developed to express the burden movements in circular discharging funnel and rotary chute, taking account of the change of equivalent frictional coefficient μa and that of the position of the center of mass. The model is proved applicable to practical operation through experimental investigation, and it will provide theoretically a preliminary basis for the study of the widening of stock flow. Also, the influences of operating parameters on burden travel are discussed.
