    The boundary value problem of a transonic jet formulated in the hodograph plane is to solve the Tricomi's equation, uxx-xuyy=0, in both subsonic (elliptic) and supersonic (hyperbolic) regions. It is known that this problem involving the mixed-type equation can be reduced to a purely elliptic typo.     The boundary value problem of a transonic jet formulated in the hodograph plane is to solve the Tricomi's equation, uxx-xuyy=0, in both subsonic (elliptic) and supersonic (hyperbolic) regions. It is known that this problem involving the mixed-type equation can be reduced to a purely elliptic typo. Since the general solution is available in the hyperbolic region, a functional relation between the sfcream function and its derivative can be formed along the sonic line and serves as an additional condition for the flow in the elliptic region. However, a direct approach proved to be still difficult. This difficulty is overcome by constructing another functional relation based on the bovmdary condition in the elliptic region. The two functional relations which must be compatible enable us to determine either the stream function or its derivative on the sonic line. Consequently, the original problem is reduced to an inversion of a singular integral equation of Cauchy-type. The inversion is carried out by using Carleman's method which is to transform the singular integral equation into a Hilbert-Riemann problem.

    本文所討論的二維跨声速射流的問題需要在速度圖內求屈科米方程的解。我們先利用了此方程在超声速区域的一般解,从而得出流函数和其偏微商在声速綫上的函数关系,把本题簡化为一个純亞声速的边界值問題。可是直接求解仍有困难。在克服这个困难时,我們根据亞声速区域内的边界条件,找出声速綫上的流函数和其偏微商的另一函数关系。从这兩个互不抵触的关系,便可以决定声速綫上之流函数值或其偏微商。
