Flotation characteristics of wolframite were studied by measurement of Zeta potential and adsorption and flotation test. It reveals that Zeta potential of the wolframite sample in pure water is -10mv, and that the surface of wolframite is negatively charged at a pH range of 2.9-11.5 when adjusted with HCl or NaOH. The negative surface charge of wolframite may possibly arise from the crystalline structural characteristics. Wolframite can be activated by multivalent metal cations, such as Fe~(3+), Pb~(2+),...

Flotation characteristics of wolframite were studied by measurement of Zeta potential and adsorption and flotation test. It reveals that Zeta potential of the wolframite sample in pure water is -10mv, and that the surface of wolframite is negatively charged at a pH range of 2.9-11.5 when adjusted with HCl or NaOH. The negative surface charge of wolframite may possibly arise from the crystalline structural characteristics. Wolframite can be activated by multivalent metal cations, such as Fe~(3+), Pb~(2+), Cu~(2+) and Mn~(2+). The mechanism of activation of wolframite by these cations may be explained as that in aqueous solution these multivalent metal ions may be hydrolyzed into hydroxy complex ions in which Fe(OH)~(2+), Pb(OH)~+, Cu(OH)~+ and Mn(OH)~+ species may be the activating Components for wolframite. These complex ions react with the mineral surface and adsorb on it by separating out water. Metal cations adsorbed on the mineral surface are difficult to be desorbed showing that a form of chemisorption may be predominant.

Adsorption properties of toluene on the H-mordenite under the approximation condition of reaction have been studied by means of the pulse chromatog-raphic technique. The specific retention volume and adsorption heat of toluene on H-mordenite at various calcination temperatures were measured.
