Both the preeipi-tator and the evaparator are supplied by Tianjin Light Industry Machineries. The units have been running since August 1984. This is the first installation for wheat straw BL recovery furnace in China.The electrostatic precipitator is a single chamber, twin field in series, flat-bottomed unit. It is 籪 concrete construction. The collecting electrode is composed of C-type plates, whereas the corona or discharging electrode is consisted of tubular bearded wires. Total curtain surface amounts to 10m2. The maximum gas flow is set as 20000 Nm3/h. BL is being concentrated from 35% to 48% in the cascade evaparator. Analytical data show that EP efficiency reaches 98% and the stack dust concentration is less than 100mg/Nm3.

A chemical recovery boiler is a special boiler utilizing kraft black liquor as its fuel to produce both steam and alkali. Process control of a recovery boiler is identical to that of a normal power boiler in some respects and different in other respects. Optimization of combustion appears to rely on the control of the air draft introduced into the furnace. Such a control can be materialized through the installation of an on-line CO sensor based on infrared absorption. The CO sensor is linked to a computer.In such a way, the air/fuel ratio can be adjusted to give optimum performance. Close attention has to be given to the soot-blowing operation in a recovsry boiler.Proper control in this respect is a prerequisite for cutting down alkali dust in the flue gas. Then conies the monitoring of the height of the smelting bed.In this case, a closed circuit video system is employed.Feed back control has not yet been practised in this respect. Monitoring of black liquor feed,green liquor production and "black-out" of smelting bed etc. appear to be prospective targets for further process control.

Alkali recovery for black liquor from alkali pulping of wheat straw for blcachable grade has been in operation for more than ten ycars.The practice shows that the conventional alkali recovery system for the black liquor of wood pulp has to be modified due to the specific characteristic of wheat straw black liquor ,such as high silica con-tcnt,high viscosity and low heat value.Xinhua Paper Mill,Shanghai has invcstigatcdand studied for eight years,and some conclusions have been made as follows:1.The content of silica in black liquor and the viscosity of black liquor can be reduced by about 30-50% and 50% respectively by adding a small amount of sodium sulfitc in soda cooking chcmical.The interferences of sediments and scales arising from the presence of silica will be cut down and the evaporation of black liquor can be improved at the same time.2.Keeping the available alkali content in black liquor higher than 4% (based on total solid)and establishing a ratio of about 1:1.5-1.65(bascd on total solid of black liquor)between inorganic and organic may overcome the interference of silica in black liquor and may decrease the viscosity of black liquor,thus the evaporation is improved ,and the volumetric isothermal expansibility of black liquor is also increased which will lead to form a better igniting char bed in the recovery furnace for more complete combustion of black liquor.3.According to the situation of China, it is suitable to adopt short tube vertical evaporator to evaporate wheat straw pulp black liquor.In order to increase the evaporation intcnsity.it is also necessary to adopt a suitable evaporation process.4.In order to perform the combustion of blcachable wheat straw pulp black liquor smoothly without additional fuel,thc structure of recovery boiler and operating conditions have to possess some features as follows:(1)The feeding black liquor concentration must be higher than 50%(total solid),at a temperature higher than 105℃. (2)A stationary vortex spray nozzle ,at a distance of 7000mm,from the nozzle to the furnace floor is used to provide good fluidized drying conditions for the black liquor.(3)The position of primary air should be lowered properly and the secondary air is introduced between the primary air and the spray nozzle.The primary and secondary air must be feed at a temperature more than 200℃ so as to enhance the black liquor drying,to control the height of char bed,to form a high temperature oxidizing zonc,and to keep a stable temperature in the furnace.(4)Adding the tertiary air above the gun ,increasing the height of furnace to ensure the complete combustion of black liquor char burned out, removing the baffle plate of boiler bank so as to eliminate the ash buildup, adding the device to blow the ash for ash cleaning operation.According to the conclusions mentioned above, an alkali recovery of black liquor from 50t/ day bleachable wheat straw pulp designed in 1983 has been test run at Xinhua Paper Mill in 1988. The test run is successful, the main features of the process and equipment, the situations of the test run are presented in this paper.

我国采用碱回收方法处理麦草浆黑液已有十几年历史,实践证明,套用木浆黑液的碱回收设备,不能很好适应麦草浆黑液含硅量高,粘度高,热值低等特点,运行中存在一些问题,针对这些问题,上海新华造纸厂经过八年的探索和研究,于1983年设计了一套处理口产50吨漂白麦草浆的黑液碱回收装置,1988年投入试生产后,运行良好,其蒸发强度等技术经济指标,已经达到较高的水平。随着生产管理和操作水平的提高,预计该装置将达到更高的水平。
