A recognition problem in converting linear programming to network flow models
      
A routing in a network assigns to each ordered pair of nodes a fixed path.
      
When either a node or a link in a fault-tolerant network fails, the communication from one node to another using this faulty element must be sent via one or more intermediate nodes along a sequence of paths determined by this routing.
      
An important and practical problem is how to choose a routing in the network such that inter-mediate nodes to ensure communication are small for any fault-set.

The design of the system consists of some special features, such as the "Waiting Type" multi-phase multivibrator, singletube monostable circuit. When this system is used together with a computer and magnetic tape recorder, it is possible to process seismic data very quickly.If audio frequency is used, then by means of a telecommunication line, seismic signals can be transmitted to thousands of kilometers away. When radio frequency receivers and transmitters are used the system can be turned to be a portable telemetered seismic network.

Essen-tially they are;1) A strict three-dimensional network of profiles.2) The recognition and the utilization of some abnormal events.3) The closure check of fault planes.4) The determination of spatial position of every reflection event by the △ti diagram.5) The 3-D migration by direct correlation, i.e., laterally rearranging all the reflection events from a series of 2-D migrated depth sections for forming a new series of 3-D migrated depth sections.These techniques are valuable to the 3-D seismic prospecting and to the geological interpretation of fault planes.In recent years, a simpler structure was found below this complex shallow struc-ture, by use of the digital seismic data. Several figures are presented showing the typical geological relationship between the shallow structure and the deep one.

In this paper, a general method has been developed for determining earthquake parameters on basis of one or several phases of recorded waves when the travel time tables are given. The problem is reduced to minimizing some criterion function. On the computer an efficient and direct searching technique, the Powell method is proposed. This technique allows the requirements to the starting value to be less critical. Generally, the location of a station with the least arrival is selected as a start. From the arrival data of a single phase, two phases and the first motion of unknown phases, the determinations of parameters of earthquakes are illustrated and some numerical examples given. Computations for more than 100 local and near earthquakes recorded by certain seismic station networks are described.

本文叙述了在走时表已知的情况下,根据单一或几种震相确定地震参数的一般方法.我们把问题归结为求某个准则函数的极小值,并提出在计算机上用一种有效的直接搜索法——鲍威尔(Powell)搜索法求解.使用该方法对迭代的初值的要求可以比较低,一般只要选到时最小的台站的位置作为初始起点.对来自单一震相,二种震相或不明震相的初动的到时数据的参数测定问题作了详细的说明,并列出了几个数值结果.本文还大致说明了在几个台网记录到的100多个地方震和近震的计算情况.
